In day to day life it is often easy to live and think locally while neglecting issues that affect the rest of the world. Sammy’s Bikes feels that it is a necessity when possible to reach out to those in unfortunate situations and do what we can to support humane efforts on both a local and global stage. To this point Sammy’s Bikes would like to announce its mission to help drive and support the Project Rwanda effort. Sammy’s and a number of community leaders and businesses have setup a 2 day benefit ride with the resulting proceeds going directly to Project Rwanda. The ride will occur on June 13th and 14th of 2009 covering 175 kilometers over the 2 day event. This ride will also coincide with the celebration of the 175th anniversary of founding of the lovely berg of St. Charles which Sammy’s Bikes proudly calls home. Please contact Sammy’s for more info on this event: 630 444-0690. .
Project Rwanda Mission Statement: Project Rwanda is committed to furthering the economic development of Rwanda through initiatives based on the bicycle as a tool and symbol of hope. Our goal is use the bike to help boost the Rwandan economy as well as re-brand Rwanda as a beautiful and safe place to do business and visit freely.
